Cameroonian soldiers have killed over 180 insurgents
who are alleged to be members of the dangerous Boko Haram sect in the
northern part of the nation.
A military source told Chinese news agency, Xinhua, that the militants were killed during attack at Amchide, an area bordering Nigeria, at about 8pm on Thursday night.
He continued and said that over 400 insurgents had attacked the defence and security forces, the report added.
He also said that as of record there is no casualty on the Cameroon side.
This comes two months after over 200 Boko Haram militants were said to have perished by the army in Amchide and Limani, another part of northern Cameroon.
Cameroon has been increasing security forces in the north to around 6000 soldiers.
