Yobo was at the Presidential Villa on December 19, 2014, Friday, with an organisation he called “PDP Ward To Ward Initiative” to hold a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to Channels TV, he spoke to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting on what the initiative was all about.
He stated that his organization had a short, medium and long-term plan to partner the president on his transformation agenda.

“I’m here to endorse His Excellency, the president of our great nation, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, for his re-election. He has done so well.
“I stand here as a youth to say that he deserves a second term to push forward the good work he has started.
“I do believe in the legacy of the transformation agenda, and that’s why this Ward 2 Ward Initiative is building on that legacy.
“The president has done so well. The youth now have their own power, they have their own beliefs and they should understand that they have their rights in their own hands. They should follow what Mr President has started.

“The youth should come forward and believe in Mr President. Everybody should come out to vote for him,” the star player said.
According to Joseph Yobo, the transformation agenda of President Goodluk Jonathan’s administration has given the Nigerian youths power and belief in oneself and this can’t be ignored.
He said that the future is for the Nigerian youths and that every one of them should stand up and defend their votes during the February 2015 presidential elections.
The group was led on the visit by Shekulomaso Karka, its National Coordinator.
Joseph Yobo is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a centre back. He was the captain of the Nigerian senior national team until his international football retirement in June 2014. He is also Nigeria’s record appearance holder.
