Enyeama makes Marc Vivien Foe award shortlist

The Lille goalkeeper has been nominated for the Radio France International-France 24 best African prize named in honour of the late Cameroonian midfielder

Nigeria  goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has made the shortlist for the RFI - FRANCE 24 Marc-Vivien Foé Awardfor the best African player in the French Ligue 1 football championship for the 2014-15 season, it has been announced.
The Super Eagles captain edged out Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier (Toulouse FC) and Cameroon international player Henri Bedimo (Olympique Lyonnais) to win the last edition.
A shortlist of 10 players in the running to receive this year’s award was unveiled in France by state radio RFI and satellite television France 24 – sponsors of the award.


Ghana international Andre Ayew of Marseille, Tunisia’s Aymen Abdennour of Toulouse and Moroccan Nabil Dirar of Monaco are the top favourites on the list.

Cameroon internationals Clinton N’Jie  of Lyon, of Montpellier, Benjamin Moukandjo  of Reims also made the list.

Others are Lorient’s Jordan Ayew,  Idrissa Gueye of Lille, Algeria’s Aissa Mandi of Reims and Max-Alain Gradel of Saint-Etienne completes the list.

The Marc-Vivien Foe Prize is awarded to the best African player of the French Ligue 1 in tribute to the former Cameroon international who died in 2003 during a Fifa Confederations Cup match with the Indomitable Lions at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon, France.
