The famous Mamman Kotangora House situated on Marina, Lagos Island has been reportedly gutted by fire.

Channels Television reports that high rise building houses corporate entities, including the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) and the Federal Mortgage Bank.
It was gathered from eyewitnesses that the fire started-off around the generator house of the building this morning.

There was a gas explosion at a welding workshop on 5th Avenue, D1 Close in FESTAC Town, Lagos State on April 13, Monday.
A yet-to-be identified man was killed in the explosion while two other people reportedly sustained injuries.
The explosion was said to have occurred at about 3p.m., Punch reports.
It was gathered that when fire fighters from Ojo fire station arrived at the scene, they saw the deceased corpse lying on the floor, while the workshop was deserted.

A group known as the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria has condemned the alleged anti-Igbo threats issued by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu Akiolu, to Igbo leaders in Lagos on April 5, Sunday.
The group flayed Oba Akiolu’s comments as unbecoming in a democratic setting where people should be allowed to vote according to their free will.
According to Premium Times, it queried why other ethnic groups living in Lagos who vote for Jimi Agbaje will go scot-free while the Igbos who vote for Agbaje will drown in the Lagoon?
The group also called on the Oba to withdraw his curse and appeal to the people to vote for APC in the coming election rather than invoking ancestral powers for destruction.

On Thursday, April 2, it was announced that 17-year-old progeria victim Hayley Okines had passed away in East Sussex, England.

The condition called; Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome, also known as HGPS or Progeria, causes children with it age up to 10 times faster than normal.

Hayley's mother, Kerry Okines, posted the news on Facebook: "My baby girl has gone somewhere better. She took her last breath in my arms at 9.39 pm."

Hayley - who BBC News say had the "body of a 104-year-old" - was being treated in the hospital for pneumonia, but she returned home shortly before she died. "She came home for an hour and she saw her puppies, little brother Louie and her sister Ruby," Hayley's father, Mark Okines, told BBC News on Friday, April 3.

Nollywood actress Nkem Ike in a recent interview has told about her feelings and relationship with Super Eagles striker Nnamdi Oduamadi.

The couple started dating in 2013, and since then the actress has always flaunted her love affair with the footballer on her Instgram page.
“I have never thought about leaving. If everything works out fine, I would love to die with him; I would love to spend the rest of my life with him,” Nkem told Dailylight.

A pal of the actress named Nneka Adams confirmed that the Nkem is really happy and ready to settle down with Oduamadi.

They are enjoying a wonderful relationship at the moment and I can see that Nkem is seriously in love with Nnamdi. She is a lady with a big heart and on her part, she has not hidden her readiness to sacrifice anything in order to make him her personal property for life.”

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) will on Monday file a formal complaint against First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, for purportedly calling on Peoples Democratic Party supporters to “stone” anyone who come to the state asking for change.

The letter of complaint signed by Rivers State Governor and Director General of APCPCO, Rotimi Amaechi, will be dispatched to the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police (IG) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), among others.
